Moms' Work: The Economic Value of Moms-in-Chief

In my last post, I wrote about how Michelle Obama, by calling herself Mom-in-Chief, elevates the status of the job of mom. Alexia Jackson, founder of Mother: the Job promotes the economic vaue of mother's work through art and a film called All Day. I encourage you to view a video of her recent appearance on ABC's View from the Bay, complete with her Laundry Monster sculpture, reminding us of the sophistication, value, and daily comedy of raising kids. I agree Michelle Obama will have a lot of influence that we should celebrate instead of second guess. Besides, what mom wouldn't leave her job to devote herself to fully embracing the role of First Lady, whatever form that takes? I think in this case, she will not be spending her days baking cookies. She'll be applying the skills she's learned from years in the workplace to advocate for policy change so that moms around the country can thrive. RJ

OK, so how come you haven't sued Michelle Obama for using your trademarked slogan "Mom-In-Chief".

Oh, no. NO!!!! Tell me you trademarked "Mom-In-Chief". TELL ME YOU OWN THE COPYRIGHT ON "MOM-IN-CHIEF"!!!!!!!

Seriously, though, since Michelle Obama uttered that phrase, have hits to www.mominchief.com gone through the roof? What about book sales?

Hope you're well. Tell Dave he owes me a phone call.
